Professional Tutoring

Students are taught in groups based on level/ability. The maximum group size is 4 students.
Lessons are 2 hours long and take place once a week.
Lessons are held in our state-of-the-art centres. Where students are unable to attend in person, Live Online Lessons can also be attended.
Students are taught using our unique “TEQT” (Teach, Exam Questions, Test) approach.
Our personalised handwritten notes and topic-based booklets are provided every lesson, featuring past exam questions collated by topic.
Students also have access to pre-recorded videos of the lesson to recap material and solidify their learning.
This allows students to not only learn during the lesson, but also to revise productively at home.
Homework is marked on a weekly basis and fed back to students and parents, along with summaries of each lesson. Attributes such as organisation, classroom conduct, presentation of work and teamworking ability are recorded and monitored.
Students have access to 24-hour email support to ask any questions on the material they have been taught.
Exams are sat on a quarterly basis to determine how students are progressing.

Note Taking

Every lesson, students are provided with our personalised handwritten notes on a topic.
As part of their homework, students must use these notes, along with textbooks and the internet, to reproduce their own complete set of notes.
This encourages independent learning and makes students understand the importance of note-taking and active revision - a vital skill in the lead-up to examinations.

In Key Stage 2, students cover English, Maths and Numerical or Verbal Reasoning every lesson.
Our unique "EMR" Booklets ensure that students remain attentive and engaged throughout the lesson, covering a variety of topics including comprehensions, descriptive writing, fractions, percentages, and algebra.
Reasoning forms a significant part of the course content at this age group, and is often tested in Entrance Exams. We ensure that students are suitably prepared for any examinations they may have.

Students are provided with handwritten notes which they must copy up into their booklet, before completing the questions.
When students reach Year 6, we begin to introduce some basic elements of Science into our lessons to prepare them for the additional content they will cover upon entry to Key Stage 3.
Our rate for Key Stage 2 Tutoring is £22.50 per hour - which equates to a monthly fee of £200.

In Key Stage 3, students cover Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and English on a rotational basis each week
This unique approach of covering 5 subjects gives our expert tutors a holistic view of the student's education, and allows them to pinpoint exact areas to improve.
For example, a student struggling in Physics may be adversely affected by their ability to rearrange equations, which is a concept covered in Maths. A number of topics in Biology and Chemistry overlap. English comprehension ability is vital in being able to understand what the question is asking.
Showing students how these subjects interact improves their overall understanding of the content and makes them far better prepared for the challenges of examinations.
Each lesson, a major topic from each subject is intensively covered in class. Students are provided with our personalised handwritten notes which must be copied up as part of their homework.
The remainder of their homework involves answering exam style questions from our topic based booklets, a sample of which can be found here.
Students in Year 9 are introduced to elements of the GCSE syllabus to prepare them for the additional content they will cover in the next 2 years.
Our rate for Key Stage 3 Tutoring is £25 per hour - which equates to a monthly fee of £225.

Unlike our GCSE courses, our A-Level courses are devoted entirely to the tutoring of a single subject.
A-Level study borders on to degree level content and requires a significant amount of additional time and understanding in comparison to GCSE subjects.
The Step2Success team possess extensive experience, specialist subject content and a 20 year proven track record in delivering individual A-Level subjects in their entirety during a two year period.
Our course structure and rigorous testing system allows us to complete the course in advance of the final exams leaving sufficient time for exam revision.
A major topic is intensively covered in class across 1 or 2 lessons depending on the complexity of the topic. Students are provided with our personalised handwritten notes which must be copied up as part of their homework.
